Yeomalt

Yeomalt is a small community located on the island’s eastern shoreline, in proximity to Winslow. Because of its geographical location, this community enjoys stunning views of Seattle and the Puget Sound. The best place to catch this spectacle is Yeomalt Point, a small projection of land that reaches further east than almost any other on the island, trumped only by Restoration Point in South Beach. Another source of pride for the Yeomalt Community is a historic log cabin located in the nearly 3 acre Camp Yeomalt Park. The cabin was built through the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s as part of the New Deal programs during The Great Depression era. Just recently, the cabin was in such bad condition that residents feared it would be torn down . Thanks to community efforts and years of fundraising, this symbol of Yeomalt has been restored and now stands as an emblem of teamwork and the close-knit neighborhood . Due to its geographical variations, the property values in Yeomalt greatly fluctuate. A nearly 2,500 square foot home with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, no waterfront, and minimal lot can cost $500,000 while a 2,000 square foot home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and waterfront can top $1,000,000. Such variations, though drastic, provide a range of homes for nearly any interest. Yeomalt residents also benefit from their proximity to Winslow that is hard to beat. Locals enjoy walking to the downtown area to explore the shops and restaurants, and many even bike onto the ferry to catch a ride to Seattle.
