Pleasant Beach is a small community located along a stretch of Point White, trailing into the northern section of Fort Ward, and nearly within the bounds of southern Lynnwood Center (see our Point White and Lynnwood Center articles for more information). This area looks out across Rich Passage toward Orchard Point on the other side—the main route of the Seattle-Bremerton ferry. Imagine being able to spend your mornings sitting on your deck, reading the newspaper, drinking coffee, soaking up the fresh air, and watching the ships pass as you wake up. Such a novelty cannot be found in the city, and even seldom exists in other parts of Bainbridge. One might expect such a location to be secluded. But this is not the case for Pleasant Beach, as it is located near Lynnwood Center’s main shopping and dining attraction and even provides direct access to Winslow, the hub of island activity and home to the Seattle-Bainbridge ferry (see our Winslow article for more information). Home prices in this area are very similar to that of the Point White community, averaging around $800,000 to $900,000 for 2,500 square feet. Fort Ward State Park, the Schel-Chelb estuary, and Blakely Harbor are among some of the area’s natural assets that provide recreation and encourage healthy lifestyles. For someone who enjoys a rejuvenating surrounding, a friendly atmosphere, and great access to social life, Pleasant Beach may just be the perfect place to find a home.
